MY FAVORITE KIDS’ SUNSCREEN

Crystal clear waters, endless games and…deep tanning! This foto shows Sofia and I, while we enjoy the sun and the sea, picturing perfectly the naivety of the years before the ozon layer depletion discovery and overexposure to sun health consequences, when parents of the world didn’t know the meaning of the initials SPF, UVA and UVB! Today scientific evidence shows more than ever that uv radiation can be harmful to skin, even causing cancer and to immune system in general. Parents nowadays are aware of the fact that UVB radiation causes skin burning, UVA is responsible for photo-ageing, that the sun damage is cumulative and even though the ozon layer has been stabilized the past few years, sunscreen is the ultimate must-have at the beach. Due to all the above, and in combination with kids’ skin fragility, our kids have learned from a young age to play under the umbrella, to wear sunglasses, hats and sophisticated kids’ sunscreens. The end of innocence…and the beginning of the perfect sunscreen’s search! Hope that my favorite (and personally tested) kids sunscreens helps you with this parent-y task.
