Asvaganda is an herb that grows mostly in India. It has traditionally been used in the Far East as an adaptive herb (and hence it is also known as Indian ginseng).
The most important phytochemicals are Vithanolides (or Guatinolides), which appear to have a similar structure and biological action to steroid hormones. Vithanolides (or guatinolides) in addition to their adaptogenic properties (stress management) seem to have:
- anti-inflammatory properties
- adjuvant properties
- testosterone boosting and sperm enhancing properties
This particular preparation is a titrated ROOT extract of the herb as only the root contains the Vithanolides (or Guatinolides).
