moreThroughout our life cells known as osteoblasts construct bone matrix and replenish it with calcium. At the same time osteoclasts work just as busily to tear down and reabsorb bone. This fine balance is regulated by several factors including systemic hormones and cytokines.
As we age this fine balance is lost. Part of the bone density has already been lost once women reach menopause but the rate of loss can be increased up to ten times during the first five years after menopause. The loss of bone density is not only related to calcium deficiency but also with the inadequate intake of a host of other nutrients including magnesium and vitamin D3. In order for calcium to be able to assist in the maintenance of healthy bones other nutrients such as vitamin D3, zinc, magnesium, and manganese should be readily available so that calcium and phosphorus can be incorporated within the bone matrix. In addition many forms of calcium are not particularly well absorbable.
Bone Restore contains three different forms of calcium supplemented with magnesium, boron, zinc, silicon, manganese, vitamin D3 and K2 which are all needed for healthy bones.
An abundance of human clinical studies, reveal that vitamin K plays a critical role in maintaining healthy bone density by facilitating the transfer of calcium from the bloodstream into the bone. Insufficient vitamin K levels lead to increased levels of undercarboxylated osteocalcin circulating in the bloodwhich seems to be associated with increased bone loss in postmenopausal women.
Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) is found in meat, eggs, and dairy products but is also made by bacteria in the human gut.
Four capsules a day, two capsules in the morning and two capsules in the evening with food. Calcium and other minerals should not be taken with fiber, as fiber may affect absorption. Calcium supplements are best taken with meals. They should always be taken with a full glass of water, juice or other liquid to enhance its solubility.
