CEYLON CINNAMON – THE PLANT
Scientific name: Cinnamomum Zeylanicum. Description: Evergreen tree that grows in altitude up to 500 m. Origins: Tropical forests of Sri Lanka and India. Today it is cultivated also in the Seychelles, Antilles, Java, Madagascar and Egypt. History: Its beneficial qualities had been recorded since 2700 BCE, while in the 1st century it was more expensive than silver!
CEYLON CINNAMON – “BIOLOGOS” ESSENTIAL OIL
Technique: Extracted from the leaves of the plant through steam distillation. Composition: Contains phenols: eugenol (70 – 87%), cinnamic aldehyde (2 – 7%), methyl-eugenol (5 – 8%), ingredients that prevent the development of microbes and fungi. Scent: Sweet, mild, slightly spicy. Country: Sri Lanka.
QUALITIES
With essential oils of Ginger, Incense, Clove, Myrtle.
For infections in genitals and the urinary tract (cystitis, vaginitis), enterocolitis, diarrhea, dysentery, stomatitis. Effective against intestinal spasms, flatulence, gastric pain, indigestion.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
ATTENTION: To be used well dissolved and not for a long period of time, danger of burn. Unsuitable for children under 6. Prohibited during pregnancy and lactation.
